People with disabilities can face many challenges in different places: at home, school or work to name just a few. When the support of a service or other working animal is no longer available, these obstacles may seem insurmountable and a person's independence may be severely curtailed or even lost. We at Porche Charities want to help people face their obstacles in times of grieving and get their lives back. Through the Animal Loss Counseling Initiative for PWD, participants will have the opportunity develop or reclaim the skills and resiliency they need to do just that.

"Nothing came between me and my dog. We went everywhere together."      -JB, service dog user

Imagine this kind of loss. Now think about having to deal with it completely alone and without tools to move forward to regain independence.

Working together, we will implement specific tools in order to move forward. We will never forget and will learn to live our lives again.
